The Yarmouth Area Industrial Commission is a non-profit society, established under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia to achieve the objects of the Society as set out by the Directors.

These objects are:
  • To solicit and encourage the establishment and development of new industries in and about its area;

  • To encourage the expansion of existing industries in our area;

  • To conduct or sponsor campaigns of publicity for the purpose of making known the advantages of its area and nearby districts as a location of industrial expansion;

  • To prepare and disseminate statistical and other information for the purpose of creating interest in its area as a location for industrial enterprises;

  • To co-operate with any government, agency of government or other body or organization set up for the purpose of promoting industry, business or tourism;

  • To do any matter that will benefit or tend to benefit its area;

  • To acquire by way of grant, gift, purchase, bequest, devise or otherwise, real and personal property and to use and apply such property to the realization of the objects of the Society;

  • To buy, own, hold, lease, mortgage, sell and convey such real and personal property as may be necessary or desirable in the carrying out of the objects of the Society.



Domtex Development CenterDomtex Development Center:The Domtex Development Centre is a 174,334 square feet facility in three buildings located in downtown Yarmouth. The site was chosen by the Dominion Textile company for its location on the waterfront, and the rail line that passed between the two groups of buildings on either side of Water Street.


Hebron Industrial MallHebron Industrial Mall:The Hebron Industrial Mall is located on County Avenue, adjacent Highway 101, in the Hebron Industrial Park. Although the Park is adjacent the highway, access is approximately three kilometres south in the Town of Yarmouth. Both Highway 101 and Highway 103, serving the Annapolis Valley and the South Shore respectively, terminate at Yarmouth. The Hebron Industrial Mall is not visible from Highway 103.


Hebron Industrial ParkHebron Industrial Park:The Park occupies nearly 160 acres approximately 5 kilometres north of downtown Yarmouth adjacent Highway 101. The Park is bounded by Highway 101 to the east, Scott Road to the south, an abandoned railway line to the west, and private property to the north. The Park is generally level, with most of its area averaging 25-30 metres (82-98.4 feet) above sea level, with a small depression in the northwest corner of Phase 3 where the surface elevation drops to 15 metres (49.2 feet).


Tusket Industrial ParkTusket Industrial Park:Tusket Industrial Park occupies 70 acres of prime industrial land 13 kilometres east of Yarmouth adjacent Highway 103. The Park is bounded by Highway 103 to the south, the Tusket River to the west, Montebello Road to the north, and Gavelton Road to the east. The entrance to the Park is at Gavelton Road, 100 metres from Exit 33 on Highway 103.
