A. POWER
In 1995, the electrical system for the entire structure was replaced and new wiring was installed.
In addition, metering switchboard, house panels and sites for tenant service equipment was added.
During renovations a new hard wired fire alarm system was installed to accommodate any type of
occupancy.
B. WATER
The Town of Yarmouth municipal water comes from the Lake George reservoir. A 2.5 million Imperial
Gallon municipal treatment facility adds Ph and Co2 to the water supply (demand: 1.6 million
Imperial Gallons). In addition, the town is in the process of adding a $4.5 million water
filtration facility upgrade. A 12” watermain under Water Street services the facility and has 80
lbs/sq. inch pressure.
C. SEWER
Sewage for most of the Town flows to the Lower Water Street treatment facility, a combined
sewer/storm sewer system. The facility is a sledge-digestion primary treatment plant, with a
daily capacity of 5.85 million Imperial gallons. The plant is designed for a 4 times dry water
flow for storm water runoff. Greater storm water volumes overflow directly into the harbour.

D. STORM WATER
There is a small in-ground storm water collection system on the portion of Water Street that serves
the Domtex facility. Storm water from this system is not connected to the Lower Water Street
treatment facility, and as a result flows directly into Yarmouth harbour. There are no plans to
connect the system to the treatment plant.
E. STREETS
Water Street is a paved commercial street in the downtown core of the Yarmouth. There is street
lighting the continuous length of the street.
