Topography

Tusket Industrial Park occupies 70 acres of prime industrial land 13 kilometres east of Yarmouth adjacent Highway 103. The Park is bounded by Highway 103 to the south, the Tusket River to the west, Montebello Road to the north, and Gavelton Road to the east. The entrance to the Park is at Gavelton Road, 100 metres from Exit 33 on Highway 103.

The Park entrance and northern portion of Slocomb Crescent sits atop a level plateau, approximately 180 feet above sea level; the Park then steps down to a second level at a 10% grade to roughly 100 feet above sea level. This area is along the southwest segment of Slocomb Crescent encompassing lots 7-9 and 20-22. The land then steps down again at a slightly higher grade to a 50 feet plateau encompassing parcels A-E. With the exception of some short, moderately steep inclines, most of the development lots are quite level.

The Park is mostly tree covered with a mixed broadleaf and evergreen canopy. Most of the trees are spruce, birch and cedar and are approximately 30 - 50 years old. Soil conditions in the Park are excellent for development. Most of the soil is sandy and moderately compacted, with some larger rocks and a few boulders. Drainage at the site is excellent.
